Collection: Air Pumps & Air Stones
Shop Air Pumps & Air Stones at A-Grade Hydroponics — PondMAX dual-outlet pumps and ceramic air stones to oxygenate your hydroponic reservoir.
Air pumps and air stones deliver the dissolved oxygen plant roots need in any reservoir-based hydroponic system. Without adequate aeration, nutrient solutions degrade within days, root rot takes hold, and plant health deteriorates — so matching the right pump and diffuser to your reservoir size is essential for a healthy root zone.
What's in this Collection?
PondMAX CT202 air pump — 1.5 L/min per outlet at 4W, dual outlet, suited to smaller reservoirs and single DWC buckets
PondMAX CT402 air pump — 2.8 L/min per outlet at 5W, dual outlet, built for larger reservoirs, multi-site DWC or RDWC
AQUA One Ceramic Air Stone Cylinder for even, low-turbulence diffusion across rectangular tanks and DWC buckets
PondMAX Ceramic Air Stone Ball 50mm for omnidirectional coverage in smaller or irregularly shaped reservoirs
Silicone airline tubing and check valves compatible with standard 4mm airline
Both PondMAX CT-series pumps feature adjustable airflow control, quiet diaphragm operation and a 2-year warranty, and each ships with 2m of silicone airline, two ceramic cylinder air stones and two check valves included — everything needed to get a reservoir aerated straight out of the box.

Air pumps & air stones
Air pumps and air stones deliver the dissolved oxygen that plant roots need in any reservoir-based hydroponic system, from single DWC buckets to multi-site RDWC setups. This range covers PondMAX dual-outlet air pumps, AQUA One and PondMAX ceramic air stones, plus the airline tubing and check valves needed to keep a reservoir properly aerated.
Why aeration matters
Without adequate aeration, nutrient solutions degrade within days, dissolved oxygen drops, root rot takes hold, and plant health deteriorates. Air pumps push air through an air stone to create fine, oxygen-rich bubbles that keep the reservoir circulating and roots supplied with the oxygen they need to develop quickly. Matching pump output and air stone type to your reservoir size is the difference between a healthy root zone and a stagnant one.

How to choose
Reservoir size and plant count determine pump output: the PondMAX CT202 (1.5 L/min per outlet) suits smaller reservoirs and single DWC buckets, while the CT402 (2.8 L/min per outlet) is built for larger reservoirs, multi-site DWC or RDWC systems with higher oxygen demand. Both are dual-outlet, so one pump can run two air stones.
Air stone shape matters as much as pump output. A cylinder-style stone like the AQUA One spreads fine bubbles evenly along a rectangular tank or DWC bucket, while a ball-style stone like the PondMAX 50mm disperses bubbles from a single point — a better fit for smaller or irregularly shaped reservoirs.
