Getting Curing & Storage Right

Curing is the final step that determines whether a harvest reaches its full potential or falls short. During curing, moisture continues to redistribute through the plant material, breaking down residual chlorophyll and sugars while allowing aroma and flavour compounds to develop fully — a process that can't be rushed by drying harder or faster.

Humidity control is the biggest factor. Products like Integra Boost humidiccant packs hold storage containers at a steady target humidity, automatically releasing or absorbing moisture to prevent both mould growth and overdrying. UV-filtering glass jars, such as Miron violet glass, add a second layer of protection by blocking light wavelengths known to degrade aromatic compounds over time — clear glass or plastic containers don't offer this protection and can accelerate quality loss.

For growers just starting out, a simple combination of an airtight glass jar and a humidity pack is enough to see a noticeable improvement over paper bags or open containers. More experienced growers curing larger harvests may prefer bulk storage bags or bins paired with multiple humidity packs to maintain consistent conditions across a bigger volume.
