How Deep Water Culture Works
In a DWC system, plants sit in mesh pots above a reservoir filled with nutrient solution. An air pump and air stones continuously oxygenate the water, keeping roots healthy and encouraging rapid uptake of nutrients. Because roots have uninterrupted access to both oxygen and nutrients, DWC is capable of producing strong vegetative growth rates when managed correctly.

How to Choose the Right System
Starting Out
The Oxypot Single is the most accessible entry point into DWC — a compact 19L system that keeps management straightforward while you learn how the method works. pH and EC monitoring is essential in any DWC setup, so pair it with a quality pH meter and EC meter from the start.
Scaling Up
Larger reservoirs are more stable — a 70L or 100L tank buffers against pH swings and temperature fluctuations more effectively than a small reservoir. If you're growing more than one plant or running under a larger light footprint, the Oxypot XL 2-Site or Oxypot 4 will suit better than starting with the single-site system.
Single Large Plant
The Oxypot XL with the 6.5L basket is specifically suited to growers focusing on one large plant — the oversized basket provides more root space and growing media support for plants that develop a significant canopy.
