Collection: Propagation Grow Lights
Shop propagation grow lights at A-Grade Hydroponics — T5 fluorescent and full-spectrum LED lighting for healthy seed, seedling and cutting development.
Weak or inconsistent light is the most common reason seedlings and cuttings fail to establish well. Under-lit plants stretch, thin out and put down poor roots before they ever reach the main grow room. Propagation grow lights fix this by delivering low-heat, close-range light at a lower intensity than flowering fixtures — enough to drive strong photosynthesis without stressing young tissue.
What's in this Collection?
T5 fluorescent grow lights, including 4x55W, 6400K daylight-spectrum fixtures built for seedling and cloning stages
T5 replacement lamps in 55W, 6400K spec, compatible with 2-bay and 4-bay T5 fixtures
Full-spectrum LED grow lights in compact bar and panel formats tuned to propagation-level output
E27 screw-fit LED grow bulbs for standard lamp fittings, suited to windowsill and small-tray setups
Whether you need a full 4-tube T5 fluorescent grow light for a multi-tray propagation station or a single E27 grow bulb for a windowsill cutting, this range covers close-range clone lighting and low-heat T5 propagation lighting for every scale of setup.
Propagation Grow Lights for Seeds and Cuttings

Propagation grow lights for seeds, seedlings and cuttings
Propagation grow lights deliver low-intensity, close-range lighting for seeds, seedlings and cuttings during their earliest growth stages. Whether you're starting your first seed tray or running an ongoing clone cycle, this range covers T5 fluorescent fixtures, full-spectrum LED bars and E27 screw-fit grow bulbs suited to windowsill setups through to multi-tray propagation stations.
Why propagation needs its own lighting
Seedlings and cuttings grown under weak or inconsistent light become etiolated — tall, thin and structurally weak, with poor root development. Propagation-stage lighting solves this by delivering uniform light at a lower PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density) than flowering fixtures, typically 100–250 µmol/m²/s, close enough to the canopy to drive strong photosynthesis without stressing young tissue.

How to choose a propagation grow light
T5 fluorescent vs. LED
T5 fluorescent fixtures are a proven, cost-effective choice for propagation, producing wide, even light with minimal heat at canopy level — safe to hang close to seedlings. LED propagation lights run more efficiently and radiate even less heat, at a higher upfront cost. If you're just starting out, a T5 fixture is the simplest way to get reliable results without a steep learning curve.
Coverage and tube count
A 2-tube T5 fixture suits a single propagation tray around 50 x 25cm; a 4-tube fixture covers a larger area for growers running multiple trays. For windowsill or very small-scale propagation, an E27 LED grow bulb in a standard desk lamp is a low-cost entry point.
Mounting height and photoperiod
Hang propagation lights 15–30cm above the tray and run 18 hours per day. As true leaves develop, gradually increase the distance or step down to 16 hours before moving plants to your main grow light. Even low-heat fixtures can cause tip burn on very young seedlings if hung under 10cm.
