Mixing Hydroponic Nutrients

How To Mix Hydroponic Nutrients

At A-Grade Hydroponics we love meeting new growers; excited to start their passion for indoor gardening. For those used to traditional gardening methods, the change to liquid nutrients may be a wee bit confusing.

Correctly mixing hydroponic nutrients is critical for achieving desired pH/EC levels and optimising nutrient uptake.

Two-Part nutrient lines and their single-part additives as they are the most commonly purchased at A-Grade Hydro. (For any questions on single part or 3-part nutrients ask your questions in the comment section)

STEP 1 – Pick your Nutrient Brand

STEP 2 – Fill up your watering jug, reservoir or hydroponic system with water.

STEP 3 – If using tap water use hydrogen peroxide first to kill any bacteria

STEP 4 – Using a pipette or syringe take out the recommended dose from Bottle A and mix it with water (if bottle says 2-3 ml and you're just starting off use 2ml)

STEP 5 – Mix this well

STEP 6 - Using a pipette or syringe take out the recommended dose from Bottle B and mix it with the same water you added Bottle A to (if bottle says 2-3 ml and you're just starting off use 2ml)

STEP 7 – Mix this well

STEP 8 – If you're using Cal/mag or growth additives or any Bloom boosters add the recommended dose to the same solution you have added A&B to.

And that’s it, that’s how to mix a base nutrient solution. Do this every time you need to feed.
