🧪 Electrode care

  • Soak the electrode in tap water for 12 hours before first use
  • Rinse the electrode with water after each use
  • Store the meter upright with a little KCl storage solution in the protective cover
  • Never store the electrode in distilled water
  • Do not soak or rinse in RO (reverse osmosis), distilled or de-ionised water, as pure water alters the chemistry of the reference liquid
  • Do not immerse in oil, proteins or suspended solids that leave a layer on the glass bulb
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as placing a cold electrode in hot liquid, which may break the glass
  • Take care not to bump the glass electrode, as broken glass is not covered by the warranty

🔄 Replacing the electrode

  1. Properly unscrew the sealing ring in the lower part of the meter.
  2. Remove the faulty or old electrode by gently pulling it.
  3. Carefully place the new electrode with the recess in the correct position, so the connectors connect properly without damaging the meter or electrode.
  4. Check that the rubber seal is properly placed.
  5. Firmly tighten the sealing ring.
  6. Calibrate the meter as described in the user manual.
  7. The meter is now ready for use.
