Moss Peat Sponge Plugs: The Ultimate Hydroponics starting substrate.
What is Moss Peat?
Moss peat, composed of moss and other plant materials, is typically found in wet, shady environments such as bogs and swamps. Mosses thrive in damp places, lack roots and leaves, and typically grow on other plants in order to absorb nutrients through their hosts' stems and leaves.
This type of growing cube can be soaked in your preferred hydroponic nutrient solution. Grow sponge media will take on the pH and EC value of that solution, making in much easier to tailor to certain nutrition early on.
We have tested these Farmtek moss peat grow sponges for cuttings and to strike seeds and were blown away at how good everything came out, not a single failure, all the tests were performed in Winter too, so these hydroponic peat sponges work great!
Moss peat is renowned for its rich nutrient content, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, sodium, and manganese.
This moss peat sponge differs from typical hydroponic grow wool sponges as they naturally have a small amount of plant nutrients available to sprouts, promoting faster growth rates of seedlings compared to other germination and propagation mediums.
They fit into traditional net mesh pots for NFT hydroponic systems and can be cut to size to fit small aeroponic cloning machines like the X-Stream Aeroponic Propagator.
